The Relational God of Love (the Trinity) Track

Read this aloud at the beginning of each session: “Knowing Jesus and the relational God of love that he reveals to us is absolutely critical for growth and maturity as disciples of Christ. The purpose of this Discovery Bible Study is to introduce disciples to the foundational love and relationship of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (the Trinity) and help disciples enter into a life-long journey of receiving and expressing this love and relationship through our worship, community, and mission to the world around us.”

Start the lesson each week by turning to God and waiting in stillness for one full minute. As you lean into the stillness, ask God to speak to you through the reading of the Scriptures, the questions, and the interaction with each other.

Read each passage in two different versions. Read passages in parenthesis together. Then ask the questions at the bottom of the page.

Questions for Discussion:

  • What is the main point?
  • What does this reveal about the Relational God of Love (the Trinity)?
  • What does this reveal about us?
  • What can you apply/obey from this passage?

Wrap up the week lesson by asking how would you share this lesson with someone else? (just a few sentences in your own words on “The Starting Point Is Jesus,” etc.)
